You want to fine people for pronouncing it correctly?

I am wondering about Imperial Sugar, are they still processing sugar in Sugarland or did they shut down? Move elsewhere? AK123's link doesn't seem to be working for me, at least not on my connection.

Last I heard, it's still a go but maybe the economy and financing situation is causing a delay. If someone finds out, please let us know!

Imperial's corporate headquarters is in Sugar Land (across 90A from the old plant) but they no longer refine sugar there. Their plants are in Gramercy, LA, and Port Wentworth, GA.

Hi All,

I am planning on buying a property in the Imperial Sugar Mill area. Is this a good area? Are they going ahead with development? I am not from Houston but moving from the New York area. Please advise.

Thanks

If you're talking about the Sugar Mill neighborhood, yes, that's a good area.

The Imperial redevelopment project is in progress but will be ongoing for several years I think.
Imperial Sugar Land
City of Sugar Land - Imperial Sugar Property

The City of Sugar Land minor league baseball stadium is to built nearby at Hwy 6 and Hwy 90 by 2012. The city's municipal pool and other facilities are nearby. Overall, I think it's a great area.
As I've mentioned before, anyone buying in that area of Sugar Land should stay south of West Belfort, or better yet, south of West Airport Blvd.
