The term h-or-s is uneconomical in writing & in speech...
Everybody understands that we are not biased...

In fact ,the ob/gyn specialty should be dominated by women...

Men are ideal for urologists...

No, it is not universally understood, especially in medicine, where there is a very deep-seated and long standing inherent bias in thought that women are nurses and men are doctors.

And your suggestion that one gender should dominate one field or another is off the mark, too--most urologists will tell you, for example, that a very large percentage of their patients are elderly women with incontinence problems. Why would men be better able to treat incontinence among elderly women?

With all due respect, your posts suggest a lack of knowledge and insensitivity about American culture and that you have much to learn.

Good point.
My wife is also a Physician with multiple sub-specialties. Every now and then I tease her by telling her I get to retire 10 years earlier since I have been working a "real" job for 10 years longer than her.

If you look into the statistics, more and more women doctors are graduating. I think the gender bias will fade.

Women: The percentage of women in medical training increased from 37% in 2000 to 41% in 2004 , by NEJM.

again you cant generalize like that.
It all depends what you do. I have a cousin that is a partner for a major law firm and he is well over 600K/yr. I have a friend that i worked for that is a VP for an oil company and his compensation is in the 7 figure range.
