We are moving to Houston at the end of June. We are looking for an affordable house to rent/lease for one year (preferrably $1500 or less). My husband will be working at MD Anderson. Looking for a short commute (less than 45min), however would like a family oriented area (we have 4 kids). Our oldest will be starting kindergarten, so need a good school. I have been doing some research and really like the idea of Kingwood. What is the best area of Kingwood as far as commute? I came up w/ 5 good elementary schools via greatschools.net 1)Hidden Hollow 2)Willow Creek 3)Bear Branch 4)Deerwood 5)Elm Grove. Can somebody give me some advice on Kingwood.... what do you think? What about Mills Branch Subdivision? Any others you might suggest would be helpful, too. Thanks in advance

Or, should I just do Pearland.... it seems like this area is mentioned quite a bit.

I can't speak for the whole drive, but I drive 59 from North Park to Tidwell and it's 25 min. on most days, 7:30 am, driving conservatively and mild congestion.
Coming home is faster, never congested or slow unless it's raining. 59 gets more congested closer you get to downtown, obviously, but at least it moves

as for living in Kingwood, it's more than worth what will be about an hour drive for your husband.
I'm not sure about 1500 for house rent though.
None of my kids are in those schools, but Bear Branch is a great neighborhood.
