Hello

After researching the net I decided to go with AT&T u-verse. Then I noticed the do not have service or there is a problem with the new adresse Cypresswood Dr. Spring. I havent heard alot of good stuff about Comcast, but the package at 99$ sounds good. All I need is TV (min channels) and a fast Internet. Telephone I would like to use Vonage for International calls. Can somebody give me some alternatives to Comcast? Where can you get basic cable TV? I have no clue since I am from Germany.

Thanks alot

You can get satellite tv from Directv, the prices are better but you have to sign a contract. Also keep in mind that the $99 is an introductory price. After 6 months I think it jumps to like $150 or something, check the fine print on the ad.

Hi

I never read anywhere if these deals (internet) AT&T or other are Flat rates or time/download limit?
That might be a strange question, but I can only go by what I know from overseas and we have a Flat rate for surfing the net.

There is a price plan from Comcast that is $99 a month, non-intro rate. Well, it's more like $105 with tax. That includes high speed internet and digital basic (?). In any case, it's more cable channels than I'll ever watch.

We had a sales rep from U-verse last night in the neighborhood. He was good... signed me up! Comcast jacked our rate from the $99 promo to $173..... scammers.

Did you notice a difference in the speed of your internet or the clarity of your tv?

U-Verse s GREAT. I got it installed last week and am so glad I did. It was a pleasure returning my boxes and modem to Comcast. You'll be very glad you got U-Verse.

Cannot compare to Comcast, but I do love Uverse. We get the medium internet speed and EVERY channel U400 package with HD, DVR, and 3 total boxes for about $170/month. It is pricey, but my wife loves Bravo and it's only offered in the 400 package as I recall. Besides, I like having all the movie channels anyhow.

Speed and tv picture is pretty darn good. Better than what my parents seem to get with Verizon Fios in Dallas.

We had Comcast internet service with basic cable (no HD channels, no DVR). The intro rate for this package is pretty good (er, it was when I got it). When our promo rate ran out the price went up to normal prices AND they decided to tack on another $15 or something. Bottom line, it was too expensive for what it was.

Ended up keeping the Comcast internet ($50/mo. or so) and picking up Dish Network for cable. With some HD channels and DVR the intro rate is $20/mo. and after 6 months the full price rate is $45/mo. So basically paying the same as I would have for the Comcast service, only now I have DVR and HD.
