We're having a group of approx 50-60 people to our place in Brenham, a Sunday in April. We thought it would be fun to have a food truck to handle the feeding of the masses.

* Has anyone done anything like this (food truck for party), and did it work out? What should I know?

* Anyone know how to find a food truck that will (a) hire out for a day, and (b) go to Brenham? Are there listings of food trucks for hire?

* What type of food works best for serving a group? Or conversely, to avoid?

* What have I not thought of?

Thanks in advance!

If it is a true food truck and not a food truck/catering then your guests will have to wait in line and that could be lengthy. If it is a catering truck you would set the menu and the guests just come and get a plate of what you have planned. With a true food truck you let your guests order from the menu that the trucks have. That can take some time to feed 50 IMO.
Find out where the trucks will be this week and go talk to them. Wednesdays their are several at Grace Presbyterian.
Food truck Fridays has several trucks every Friday. There was a food truck park DT but not sure if it is there still. Eatsie Boys is typically at 8th Wonder along with others. The new Levy park has a food truck area so they may be there this weekend.

Thanks, great feedback. It's a four hour event, so hopefully the eating will be stretched out over time.

Will start hunting!
