Meeting friends in Brenham.....what little homegrown restaurant is fresh and interesting, with real food? Looking for salads, sandwiches & soups.

(Read: not pre-fabbed, and not a chain restaurant)

Thanks!

Capital Grill in the Ant Street Inn. Downtown Brenham. Ant Street Inn - Captial Grill (http://www.antstreetinn.com/grill.htm - broken link)

It's a small restaurant inside a small, but very, very nice hotel. Great food. Very nice decor. I'm sure they have everything on the menu. We got chicken fried steak and I think pizza for lunch, and it was great. Plus you can walk the shops of downtown if you so desire. When we were in Brenham the other cafes were crowded for lunch so we ended up here. So glad we did...

Thanks for the tip, just might go there! Also wondering if anyone has been to Ernie's, the Funky Art Cafe, or the Must Be Heaven Sandwich Shoppe?

Is it lunch time yet??
