Hello! We are a family of four (two young ones) and we are planning a move to Houston this July... from Toronto ... wifey has a job lined up for her at TMC ...

I need your valuable insight as to where we can procure a home... our budget is not that big (around 150k-200k) but we don't really need a big house at this time ... safety, and proximity to good schools would be the priorities ... and of course, the nearer to TMC, the better

200k with good schools near TMC is challenging, even if you are willing to sacrifice square footage. You could look for something zoned to Red Elementary. But I don't think you can get in that boundary for $200k. You are pretty much looking at a long commute to hit the budget and schools. There are pocket neighborhoods on the west side of Pearland in Pearland ISD that would likely be under $200k and have fairly good elementary schools. Look for homes zoned to Challenger Elementary in Pearland. You MIGHT be able to find something in the budget zoned to Lexington Creek Elementary in Missouri City.

I work in the med center and just purchased a house in the Lakes a Country Place. It's a gated golf course community with decent home prices located less than 10 miles from the med center. Good schools and low taxes compared to Shadow Creek. They built up the neighborhood with fill dirt so most of the homes are outside of the 500 year flood plain.

Thanks! I googled it and the place looks awesome ... do you have a real estate agent for the community?

Yes. Susie Juravich, 832-790.7888. The good houses go fast so be prepared to look at home within a few days of going on the market.
