Looking at job at Tucson Medical Center with need to be within 10 minute or so drive for emergencies. Any nice neighborhoods that close? What is local reputation of TMC?

There's quite a lot that's within a 10-minute drive to TMC. Are you looking to rent or buy? What's your price range?
To start, the neighborhood directly across Craycroft is nice and there are sometimes rentals there. 3-4br houses though, so they're not cheap. The neighborhood off of Fort Lowell Road between Craycroft and Swan, called Old Fort Lowell, is really nice as well. And there are some really nice neighborhoods north of River Road.

As Coati has said you should have lots of options in all kinds of price ranges within 10 minutes of TMC.

There are some small hidden but beautiful neighboorhoods on the west side of TMC intermixed with some mediocre ones. I always enjoyed that part of Tucson because above Grant Ave there weren't any real busy streets running in any direction. The area between Swan, Campbell, Grant and the River is about the quietest part of central Tucson relative to traffic.

Depends on what you are looking for, but there are a lot of rentals and condos for sale surrounding Winterhaven. It's super quiet over there, mostly old people. There are also a lot of vacancies in the condo complexes right on the north side of river road, west of campbell.
