The signage along 290 yesterday (2/5) heralded that it was already open.

It will cost $8.05 between I-10 and I-45. When Segment G opens, it will cost 10.87 to I-69. The tolls have had their annual increase, and the image above gives last year's rates. The cost of each tolling point is on here.

They are so desperate to be off 45n for their daily commute -- they will pay whatever.

Spring and woodlands, get ready for some additional crime. Just like bw8 did, this makes it easier for the thugs to cruise.

Wonder if those tolls are steep enough to encourage carpooling. $8-10 each way is steep, but definitely worth it split a few ways.

Probably selfish of me to say, but I'm glad the tolls are so high. I would use the road infrequently, but when I do use it id rather have an option that is meaningfully quicker than the beltway (where you pay, but still inch along in bumper to bumper traffic).

I last viewed this thread on 2/4. I picked up the Sunday edition of the Chronicle at the store a few hours ago. Per a caption on the front page, it opened Friday (2/5) at night. I clicked on this thread to see if the Chronicle got it right re pre 2/8.

Noooo.....Shhh..... If I moved, it would likely be to Montgomery...and one of the reasons would be to get away from such roads and the level of traffic they bring.

I wish they would gradually make the entire thing ez tag only. Especially the part between I-10 and 290 which is horrific with traffic.
