Watched him on the news when I was a kid. Always waited for the part: "I'm Doctor Rayd Duke."

He was a true pioneer in his field and health care is better for it.

If you want to see a true measure of his impact, read all the comments on the news reports like the one above. Many submissions from people who were treated and saved by Dr. Duke, or anecdotes about what a great person he was.

Great man! Instrumental in starting Life Flight. Such a wonderful role model too. I too always loved seeing him on the news when I was little. Fly with the angels.

I heard that he actually lived in a private residence in an apartment at memorial Hermann. Not sure if that's true or not. He was something else and will be sorely missed in the medical profession. They don't make them like him Anymore.

Okay, do you at least remember this??

Marvin (shouting): "I'm Marvin Zindler, Eyewitness News"
Dave Ward (awkward silence) "Thank you, Marvin"
Shara Fryer (eyeroll)

This man did so much for the trauma center in the TMC. He founded the Life Light program and put Memorial Hermann on the map for being one of the top notch trauma centers.

RIP Dr. Red Duke...you will be missed.
