You were almost at 20mph over the speed limit, I believe at 25mph over the speed limit you go to jail and your car is towed. Someone would need to validate this though as I'm not sure if it's accurate
I have heard this to if your doing 25mph+ over they can take you to jail about 60% to 65% cop does not they do not want to fill out all the extra paper work. Now if you were doing 40 or 50 over I bet you would have a much better chance of going to join.

Wrong wrong wrong wrong! You can take defensive driving for a dismissal as long as it's 25 or less over the speed limit and you are limited to doing it once a year. Lmao at your car being impounded and jail at 25 over. This is Texas, not some militant Yankee state like Virginia. Get your facts straight before spewing off completely inaccurate information.

Feeling threatened is not some lame excuse, we've had incidents of police harassment in Sugar Land not to mention nationwide.

As for the alleged speed I was not doing 84 as this office stated and I do know that radar guns aren't 100% accurate.

As for Highway 59 if you looked at the average speed you'd end up pulling a large majority of the drivers over.

Thank You for those who just posted the options and your thoughts...don't need smart ass remarks just answers.

Right! Man up. Admit wrongdoing and suck up the consequences.
What's happened with taking responsibility for your own action?
When I decide to speed, I count with the possibility that I might get caugh, and would not lie about it.
That's self-respect.

I got caught in an HPD speed trap along the western corridors of Westpark. Doing 35 in a 30mph zone. He said I was doing 40 but I was eyeing my speedometer the whole time. Never went past 36. But he said he'd cite me for doing less than 40 (or to that effect). It was a very drizzly day too. I read that bad weather can affect their equipment (if they even bother to use it at times in those settings).

They got the person behind me too. (I heard the cop tell another cop, "Get that one too, he was following just behind this one.") It was revenue time.

Defensive driving, pay the court their 100 bucks or so. Do 6 hours on-line defensive driving, something like $25. And back to your regularly scheduled life.

When was the speed limit on 59 ever 75mph? I've lived in Fort Bend for 22 years and don't recall this ever being the case.

I have had that one... police said I was doing 28 in a 20mph school zone... I immediately said no way - that I was doing 23 because I was checking my speed. Got a warning out of it. She knew I was right.

There's 75 mph in Wharton Co, but not Fort Bend Co that I can remember.

Good luck with the "well your radar gun is wrong" defense.
