Ask for deferred adjudication.

There is a threshold at which fighting something like this will cost you more time than it is worth. I don't know about you, but my time (and consequently lowering of frustration) are worth a lot to me.

i do like the V1, but I got a ticket with it once out close to El Paso. I think I got busted doing 83 in an 80mph zone.
84 in 65 zone is ticket worthy, but to give ticket for 83 in 80 zone is asinine B.S., as that is within measurement errors.

If you drive 9 mph over the speed limit anywhere in Texas you'll be fine. Driving 85 In a 65?take your ticket and have a nice day.You deserve it.

My issue with this with the radar being used. In addition I was simply keeping up with traffic, slowed down and indicated when I wanted to switch lanes, and after finding an opening made a switch safely.

What are my options for this VIO 1 ticket? I called the Sugar Land Municipal Court but the lady who answered spoke to me very rudely and would not provide answers to my questions.

Is it even worth fighting this with an attorney? I'm thinking of fighting this as the docket is full of speeding violations and I feel that I can argue the validity of the recorded speed.

Also this is the first time I've been given a speeding ticket. I have a clean record beyond this.

Thank You for your assistance with this!

You felt threatened? By what? Talk about dramatic

19 mph over the speed limit isn't execusable so get deffered if they'll let you and slow down

i seriously doubt you can take defensive driving for that much over the limit. its usually 15 over is the limit. Isuggest you lawyer up.

Let's be honest, folks If the cop is using laser, you may as well just toss your detectors in the trash. As if you really are going to get over on the po-po....please.

Right. Because that's easy overtime for a cop and scheduled, too, what are OPs odds of escaping? Not too terribly great, huh?

Oh, just something I remember from the La Porte citizen's police academy (FWTW)...seven over might make you lucky, over that...no dice. Ticket time.

I'm also not really sure where 84 in a 65 on 59 is really possible/advisable. I've had to run out to the theaters out Sugar Land way and thereabouts for work (say 2-6pm or so) and inbound is always stopped cold. Outbound isn't even moving enough to do 70 consistently. What's the secret?

I agree with this post, you got caught speeding and are upset you got a ticket. It happens to everyone at some time. Cut your losses ., take defensive driving or deferred judification and be done with it.
You were almost at 20mph over the speed limit, I believe at 25mph over the speed limit you go to jail and your car is towed. Someone would need to validate this though as I'm not sure if it's accurate
