Do you really think the little gate is stopping anything beside the occasional car that made the wrong turn?

You should be grateful he is making a sensible decision to do this, otherwise it will be a bottleneck all day and night as construction crews keep waiting to get in. Even worse, they all try to go in after one another and end up breaking the gate.

The gate deters nothing. If people want to go in, they can always get in easily. Do you know anybody that live in there will stop the car from allowing them to go in after the gate is open? I think not, and there lies your "theory" that this protect you.

If you are looking for acreage, I would check out the FM359 Area of Richmond. Texana Plantation, River Forest, Foster Creek, Foster Crossing, Whispering Oaks, Grand River, Woods Edge. Do an HAR search and put those names in the community section to see what you can get.

I wouldn't build a big home at Imperial. Not a fan of the others you mentioned either.

which subdivision were you warning us about? is this the lakes on willams? I definitely don't want to be looking at that one....thx for breaking my bubble about gated communities. am going to check next time with the neighbors or neighborhood residents about the HOA and the gates, whether they are actually doing what they are supposed to do.

If you want a truly gated community, look at Weston Lakes out west past Fulshear. It is literally a gated subdivision-turned-city that is guard-gated 24 hours a day, and you cannot simply circumvent the guard - they take it pretty seriously out there. Lots range from half acre to 2 acres in the million dollar sections.
