If this is the sort of inconvenience that's the most annoying thing in your day, then I'd have to say your life is probably going pretty well.

Would it kill people to just walk around the truck? He's on his property, who cares? It's not like he's blocking a sidewalk on Westheimer or a sidewalk Downtown. He's blocking the sidewalk in some suburban cookie cutter neighborhood, were most people probably don't even walk to the mail box. And I agree with the people who say they prefer that people park in the driveway instead of the street. Have you ever tried navigating the streets in the Heights and Midtown, Rice Military were there are no driveways and people are parking on both sides of the streets and make impossible to even go drive down the street.

I walk for pleasure. My kids walk to/from school daily. This wouldn't even be an issue for us inside the neighborhood

Seems the in-town crowd is convinced that your suburban sidewalks are not nearly as important as their various struggles. Sidewalks are an amenity to encourage people to safely walk/play. I would give a pass for rare over-flow parking, but not if this was a regular occurrence.

I'm sorry, but having a truck like this parked in the street is WAY more of a hazard than having it parked like that in their own driveway.

He is not "on his own property". That is public property. There's nothing the HOA can do about it other than call the police. It is a ticket-able offense to park like that, but I doubt any cop would take such a complaint very seriously.

No sidewalks in our neighborhood yet we manage to walk our dogs 2+ miles through the neighborhood multiple times a week. I'm not sure how we manage but somehow we find a way

He may be on his own property.

The sidewalk in front of my house is mine. The HOA can write me up for an uneven sidewalk and I have to pay to keep it maintained.

HPD, on the other hand, can give me a ticket for parking over it. That part depends on jurisdiction. And occasionally the cops do actually come out for an easy money grab.
