I really find this hard to believe because I'd gotten a verbal offer, then the written offer came after. The written offer included paperwork I had to sign and send back. I've been in contact with Chevron on a regular basis.
That really sucks. I know how much you wanted this. If they schemed you, shame on it all. Hopefully they did not and if they did, you just dust yourself off and keep at it. The storm can't last forever.

It's not a scheme. LOL. It's sad that people like to be hurtful especially from afar or behind closed doors. That rep doesn't sound legit anyway, since I was contacted by the headquarters and looked up the recruiter and such on Linkedin, Facebook, and Google.

Oh ok. Good to hear. The fact that its not a scheme. Don't worry about the people who are so miserable they feel they have to share it with someone. You just keep doing what you're doing. Enjoy Houston!! I know once I finish school, I plan to find a job and move down there too

Thanks! I never give up! The location is now TBD, but like I said, if I don't get to Houston now, then I will eventually get there!

In the most ''exotic places'' you're stuck in a 100% male man-camp or compound 24/7 for 6-8 weeks at a time, surrounded & escorted by guards as the locals have been known to charge in and start chopping things off.

congrats on the job offer and the future move..... i used to live in Cheval Apartments. tons of young professionals and a great pool scene. plus a lot more amenities. they're located on Old Katy Rd which is just inside the loop, and just north of I-10..... it has easy access to 610, 290, i-10, memorial drive (easy access to downtown), and washington ave (bars/restaurants). the apartment my fiance and i had was a 1br and 1 study (2nd bedroom). we paid something like $1300. the study was big enough to have a queen size bed so it became a guest room..... i'm sure the prices have increase since, but the one bedrooms are probably still in your price range.... they also have a covered parking garage.

You may be on a rotation, where you work at one site for 6 months, then go to the home office for a few months, then off to a different site for 6 months to a year and repeat for a few years. I wouldn't make any big 'permanent' investments your first few years...except in the stock market
