My point is that they would not offer a class of 9 here, correct? Plus it was offered district wide where I grew up. Not just in an academy setting.

I don't know if they would offer it for 9 students. I suppose it would depend on how many students qualified and wanted to take it. It was offered *district wide* in my son's district, but there was only one high school. I think some of the other suburban high schools also offered it, but they were not in our district.

I only looked up one school in FBISD, so I don't know if other schools also offer it.

Frankly, it should not matter for advanced students if you have a small class size. I think my son's class was 20 students. Not sure.

The main point is that public schools in Texas is below average at best. I think FBISD is skewed higher due to the heavy influx of Asians in the First Colony area. I wonder if you take out that group, would FBISD score as highly overall.

The niche.com ranking, if you take out the survey, does have some critierias that placed FBISD significatlly lower to Katy and other more highly regarded school areas. Things like extra activities and student to teacher ratio, etc. are scored poorly for alot of the schools in FBISD.

Missed the point. Classes "don't make" at the advanced level a lot of times because there are not enough students. If 9 students at a school in FBISD wanted Calc 3, they would not offer the class solely based on the lack of students. So students miss out. Dulles has the math and science academy by the way. No wonder they have Calc 3.
