Thanks all for your inputs.

We went to Fusion Noodle House yesterday but they closed. The Cafe Red took it over. We were shocked because they just opened since last November 2012??? I just wanted to give it a try even though they didn't have good reviews. Sadly they closed. I don't know but for some reason I felt really sad for business owner. I used to have a business so I know how it felt when you can't make in this industry... I don't see they have customer or surrounding neighbors' support. Is the food really that bad??? Make me curious how bad is it to turn the business down like that ...sigh ...

Anyway, after that we drove to another Asian restaurant right on Spring Green & 1093, next to Kroger, I think it called Ashami Sushi something... sorry can't remember. We ordered General's Tso Chicken, Orange Beef and Shrimp with vegetable, with wonton soup for appetizer. Their foods were OK, nothing to excite about. The foods were expensive though, on the weekend they don't have lunch menu. So for Orange beef was $11.95, General Tso $11.50, to me it is way too expensive for lunch.

Need to go to Cravings next time.

Thanks everyone!

If you want sushi, Sushi Hana is the best around Katy. They still have their original location off of Mason (south of Highland Knolls) in the Specs shopping strip, and they have a bigger fancier one in the Lakes of Bella Terra Shopping Area near Walmart. I also like the fact that you can request sushi rolls be made with brown rice (which is very rare).

Agree about Akashi. I think it's overpriced for what you get. If you what quick and cheap Chinese food try Ling's on Fry. Good for takeout when you're in a hurry.

If a places sells sushi and General Tso, I can guarantee you the food is Americanized and neither will be great. Take the westpark tollway, to china town, it's not so far.

Trust me, with the clientele that is buying in and around the Katy area, there will be an Asian restaurant on every corner in the near future.

If sushi Hana is the best in Katy then i do not want to think about the worst. I only go to Sushi jin on dairy ashford and memorial dr. for japanese food. It is not in katy but not too far away either. Pho saigon on Mason rd. Kimchi cafe on Katy Fwy near Bally fitness is a place i go for a quick Korean fix.

What are some good hibachi style restaurants around katy? Ive been to HB on Mason Rd and I thought it was pretty good. There is hardly anyone ever there though. The sushi roll I had was excellent. i know there is a Benihana in Sugar Land.....anything else in the area?

Thumbs up to Lings for Chinese, the also deliver and on the weekend they carry lunch specials.

Good Vietnamese would be Barclay Grill off of Clay, they have a great soup.

FYI: The Fusion Noodle and Café Red are still owned by the same family they renamed it and changed the menu.

For carry out, we liked China Wall by the Target on Westheimer.

I know that Thai Spice on Mason is part of a franchise, but I think that the food is excellent. The owner is very involved and the service is good too.
