I am in Galleria and I need the fastest data speed in a smartphone. I only need 200MB data and 200 minutes talk no text.

So which carrier to go with in Houston?

200MB on LTE will last about, oh, 5 minutes. I have ATT and work on the opposite side of Houston and it's 20+ in the downloading department.

What I am doing specifically does not need more than 200MB

It just needs to be fast that is all

So when you are saying ATT, is your provider ATT or one of those companies using ATT towers?

Verizon, hands down. I travel a lot to back country places and out of state, and almost always get plenty of bars and 4G even while driving down the freeway doing the speed limit.

I did a speed test inside the walmart at Almeda-Genoa and 45 few days back and hit 26 mbps.

But really? Who cares about speed when you have only 200 megs to use? You can burn through that in a few minutes with LTE.

3G is suffice for 95% of your usage.

We have Tmobile, live in the Galleria, and it is AMAZING. But the second we leave the Houston area we hardly have any Data service at all. For us, it's worth having a bill that's half the price of AT&T, but when we move to Austin next year, we are definitely switching over.

Anyone but Sprint... got sprint last summer when they were starting their 4G LTE service in Houston... big mistake. Can't ever get 4G at my work or home, and the 3G speeds from sprint are downright pathetic. To make matter worse, when driving to and from St Louis last month there were long stretches where I couldn't receive data despite showing a 3G connection... which made it impossible to get directions or search for restaurants/hotels. Can't wait for my contract to end, what good is unlimited data if you never have a signal to use it?
