I am an RN who is planning to move from South Florida to Houston in 2 months, May 1st. I do not have a job offer as of yet as I was a little late in applying for my texas license. I have been an RN for three years. I have four children (1 in college) two elementary, one high school. I will be buying later on but want to first start out renting so I can learn neighborhoods.
I like the medical center but I am open to other areas as I see traffic can be a huge problem. I would like any helpful information I can get regarding places to live, jobs, neighborhoods that are family friendly. My budget for renting is between $1100 to $1300 and would prefer a single family home. My husband is a truck driver so any info on jobs for him would be welcome too. Thank you.

Hi. Just heard a radio ad today that Methodist hospital in Houston is being RNs. Don't recall the web site but may be something like jobswithmethodist.com but not positive but you might want to google and call them for details. That is a very good hospital.

The dialysis clinic that I work for is looking for RNs, if you have dialysis experience.

I do not have Dialysis experience but I am an oncology or chemo certified nurse. Thanks though.

Hi mammab1,
My sister just received her nursing license in Ohio! Anyway, Fort Bend County offers a lot of the amenities you are looking for. In fact, Sugarland (in Fort Bend) has a lot medical centers that I bet would be looking for RN's.

Thank you. I am still awaiting my Texas license. Did not know it would have taken this long or I would have applied earlier. I am getting a little antsy as I have to move from my current apartment end of April which is when I am planning to move to Houston. I still need to find a job, a place to live and enroll three kids into school.
