We are relocating this summer and I have been focusing my search on 77079. We have recently been told to look in 77021 which is supposed to be near the bayou and a great HS - Michael DeBakey. Anyone care to fill me in? I love the love and feel of 77079 and read that Stratford and Memorial are good HS. Any comparisons? My Dh will be working in the Energy Corridor so commute is critical and I have 3 boys in elementary and middle school. Thanks -- I have gather a wealth of info from this forum!

continue looking at 77079. especially with him working in energy corridor, the commute would be easier.... 77021 isn't the best area although i'm sure it's improved over the years.

I think you meant to say 77024 because 77021 would not fit into the context. Please clarify.

DeBakey is not a neighborhood zoned school. It is a specialty high school for very bright students that want to be doctors one day. The students are from all over HISD. They have to test in and then get in a lottery for the open spots. The other areas you are mentioning have zoned schools and are much closer to the Energy Corridor.

77021 is the are around Scott and OST & Cullen Griggs. Riverside Terrance is the best neighborhood in this zip code you might want to check it out
