I am trying to justify a maintenance fee for a townhome I am interested in buying. What do yall pay on average for your maintenance fee (not including insurance), whats included in your fee, and if you dont pay a fee what does Water, Sewer, and Trash usually cost?

I know this is a tedious request, just curious what others out there are paying to help gauge.

Thanks in advance

@TexasGSD, it really all depends on the townhome and the area. I have a client looking in the 288/610 area and hers is $150. This only covers trash, and sewer. Then another was looking for one in the I-10 and Voss area and it covered everything. Cable, Electricity, water, etc. Hope this doesn't sound out of line, but your agent should have spoken with the seller's agent to see everything that was factored in. OR you could reach out to the sellers agent. OR it should be listed on HAR. Lots of options. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. Mine is 150 a month and covers Trash, Water, Sewer, Gate. Im trying to see if that is very good or bad or how that ranks. I couldnt imagine a 2/2 townhome using that much water, I have no clue how much any of this cost as right now I am living in the suburbs and water trash and sewer runs us about 60-90 a month. Just trying to gauge cost inside Houston city limits thats all.

My HOA covers trash, water, sewer, gate, yard and a few other things. $1650/yr. I'm in the loop, unattached 4 story townhouse.

Are there common area and common amenities?

I used to own a condo paying 327/mnt.

Insurance, water, trash, grounds, pool, and exterior maintainance

$150 seems reasonable. Most townhomes have a minimum of $50-$60 per month to cover common areas. Then if there's water/sewer/trash involved it goes up another $60-$100. If there's a pool or gated entry, that makes a difference as well.

Totally reasonable for gate, water and grounds.
