Wife is 10/610 westside (but will probably "retire" to be a SAHM in the next couple years) and I have clients all over the city, so central is best for me.

The neighborhoods are opposite ends, but I've tried to be as exhaustive as I can in my search and tried not to rule anything out. Schools are important to us with twin 2 years olds to be cognizant of. I absolutely love West Memorial but we might be priced out. The West Memorial public schools 1-12 look the best you can get unless you go out to Sugar Land or other suburb.

Wife is willing to spend more on a new build so that's why I'm looking at Bellaire lots. The new construction might be my ticket out of surburbia! I absolutely do not want surburbia anymore. We've spent the last 8 years in Pearland and I went to high school in Sugar Land. I'm done with that.

Woodside is just a wonderful neighborhood. The people there I've interacted with during my many drive thru's have been a joy to talk to. I think we'd enjoy living amongst them. The negative there is Longfellow, but we could do private for elementary.

Some of the other nice neighborhoods are eliminated out of size. My wife told me to not show her any house under 2500sqft (and preferably over 3000 sqft) if I know what's best for me.

Woodside is zoned to Longfellow Elementary. And Woodside as I'm referring to it is inside the loop. I thought outside the loop it is Willow Meadows. I'm not looking there.

I used to live a couple of blocks away from those homes and hate what the area has become: filled with unattractive McMansions built out to almost the entire lot size. Why are the above properties even being considered as tear-downs? The first one, especially, is a nice house with a lot of character. I hope whoever buys it loves it and doesnt tear it down to build an ugly McMansion.

A lot of city homes have small yards and maximize sqft. More 3 and now even 4 story homes are built, which I don't like but lots of people don't mind to get more sqft. Land is so expensive. But if you commute all over, you can't beat places like those you've listed close to 610Wx59.
