I am to the point of taking any job that is available. I am only 20, not much work experience. I was fired from my last job I had for a year and a half. I really don't want to work at a fast food joint. Has anyone seen signs or anything from companies around Houston that are hiring? Or online? I am desperate as I am typing this.

I got to that point when I was 22. I couldn't get a job as a dishwasher. Quite accidently I ended up going back to school. I worked telemarking and door to door sales jobs to eat, redid 1 1/2 years of high school, got great marks and went to a prestigous university.

Nothing motivates like poverty. Never looked back.

Want good money without a college degree? Go work the offshore rigs. Very hard work, but very good money.

I have an Associate's degree from Lone Star College. I will be transferring to a university (not sure yet) to get a Bachelor's. I hate indeed.com, careerbuilder.com, etc. They seem useless to me.

Useless. If you can name someone that actually got hired from those, let alone got a call, then fine.

not useless but i think it's more for college grads with tons of experience..
it's best to ask your father's or uncle's friends.. being referred to is the easiest to get a job..

It's hard finding a job that wants a certain amount of experience.

Move to Williston, ND. Make 100k a year. Brave the cold weather and hard work and then move out. Almost zero unemployment there. I've been told it takes less then 24 hours to get work upon entering the city limits. Good luck.
