Hi all,

Since we moved here and we've been looking for a nice place to buy cakes from. We love getting a fresh delicious cake from time to time as a treat for the kids. Unfortunately, until now we couldn't find any place that sell different types of cakes and tarts everyday with no need to pre order. We tried le Madeleine and loved it but they have a very limited selection.
Can you please share with were do you get nice cakes from.

Thank you

Thank you texas7. I heard about the cake lady, but do they have ready cakes or you need to pre order?

Thank you nana, the little cake shop is a good idea for the kids coming birthday. But still looking for everyday cakes like tiramisu, carrot cake, etc.

For carrot cake, if I want it fresh I bake my own.

While it's not *great cake,* Kroger and HEB both have bakeries with cakes and treats.

Yes. Yes, and yes.

The better half brought some kind of vanilla cake with creme filling last week from the Cake Lady. It didn't last very long. Chocolate to me is meh. Vanilla and white chocolate are my kryptonite.

There's also a neat cupcake shop in Friendswood probably less than a mile down the road from the Cake Lady.

I will certainly try the cake lady then. Tried h.e.b. and Kroger, didn't like any of them.
Till now this is my only disappointment in Houston, as in LA there used to be plenty of awesome cake houses with great varieties. I really donno why Houston is so behind in regards to that, maybe Texans prefer meat to cake

Now if you want to go into Houston, DaCapo's in the Heights has a dreamy Banana Split Cake - best thing I have ever had!
