My wife and I were just discussing about this last night. We recently moved to Houston and never seen this much of a difference in gas prices within close proximity in any other city. Last night I filled up for $2.84/gallon and drove up a block to see $3.09/gallon. Gasbuddy has become our closest friend!

The shell station on Richmond and Montrose is always overpriced not just on gas but on everything inside to. Try to buy a pack of smokes its 7 bucks walk over to the CVS 5 bucks and change lol.

The gas station at San Felipe and 610 is always $.30 to .40 higher than anywhere else. Gas in River Oaks alone is higher than normal.

Differential prices are a trip. High minority areas it's high as hell. Drive through Acres Homes. High. Memorial/River Oaks/Bellaire. High. But the latters can afford it.

Everywhere else is a hit or miss. But you can go a few blocks and the price difference is staggering. I still don't see how Chevron is in business You'll see a Valero offering gas at like $1.50 while Chevron across the street/down the street is $3.00. Example numbers but it is crazy like that.

It's amazing to me the difference in price between the two Shell stations there. One's at Montrose and Alabama, the other Montrose and Richmond. They're about 300 yards from each other. The Alabama station is always 30-40 cents cheaper than the Richmond one. And I've never understood why. But I will say most people know this--rarely many people at Richmond, and they're lined up at the 'Bama one.

I fill up at the Chevron across the street.

Ha, you beat me to it! Headed that way again too and saw the difference between the $3.05 Shell on West Alabama and then 30+ cents higher at Richmond. So funny. Maybe rent gets higher as you get closer to the Museum District.

My Chevron station is selling regular for $2.99 but the Chevron station at the intersection of 610 & San Felipe has the same gas for $3.59! Until I saw that, I thought the Chevron at Memorial and BW 8 was the worst but apparently I was mistaken!

I know right! That Chevron always seems high as hell. No one is ever there really. Just a few people and a cop here and there ready to strike.
