I would just add that driving the east side of the 610 loop always makes me a little nervous... it's like the Wild West out there. Craaaaazzzzzzyyyyy. I would not make that part of my daily commute. I like the east end or Heights suggestions. There are so many restaurants and bars on White Oak in the Heights now... and walkable from nearby neighborhoods. Nice.

Hey I'm from St. Louis and was trying to move to houston. lol. I was reading all the posts. I have been looking for apartments in houston, just to get the jist of it.. I never been to Texas lol.. was trying to go in Feb when they have there nba all star events, but I figure everything will be high at that time. Have you found any parts you are interested in?
