If a piece of land was given from parent to child as a gift, what is the proper process to make the child the official owner of the land? Is this something that requires a real estate attorney or is it possible to fill out forms and do it yourself?

Thanks.

Assuming there are no liens on the property you can just do a gift deed from the parents to the child and file at the county clerk. I'm sure you can find a sample Texas gift deed online. If you need to use an attorney don't let them bull**** you that it will take them any more than an hour to prepare it for you.
