Now, let me preface this by saying I live in these condos. I moved in back in September and I actually enjoy it here. Residents have kept to themselves. It has an excellent location and I have an awesome view.

How do people view this condo building? We have several listings in the building that aren't moving and I wonder if its the units themselves or if its the feelings about the building?

Please do not be afraid to spare my feelings. I would like to know the truth. If you think they suck then......well don't say that but don't spare my feelings. lol.

I read some reviews online and it appears the area that it is in is a bit sketchy. It's also a very old building and considering how many highrises that have been popping up around town I'm guessing those are preferred with a lot of buyers. It's great that it's on the rail line but I think the age and location will continue to make it not so desirable.

With that said it's great that you enjoy it and I'd probably have no issue with living there if my job was downtown.

@oildog yes, these are the ones across from the Greyhound. Lol. But I'm a guy who likes safety and security and I haven't had to deal with any unsavory people coming over to my side of the street. It's actually patrolled quite well.

Just going off memory here, aren't the monthly maintenance fees a bit high there? That could be putting people off.

This is true. Mine are 668. But my mortgage is 480. So they total 1148. My last apartment, my rent was $962, my electricity was $100, my cable was $145, and my water and trash were $32. But at 2016, I have basic cable, electricity, water, and WIFI all paid for in my HOA fees. That's what I think people are missing. Your utilities are paid.

In my opinion, that's the biggest problem. Anyone looking for a property under $100k is automatically put off by those fees regardless of what it includes. Most of the older high rises have this same problem. The condos end up sitting on the market for a while. :/

I completely understand. My realtor didn't even break it down to me. My mom had to do it cause I was turned off by it at first. So @CityLove, who are you a realtor with? I'm completing my license and looking at different brokerages to see which one would be best? I like Keller Williams a lot, but I'm still searching to see what other options there are.

It's not a bad area, but it seems that way because of the Greyhound station and such. You are centrally located, however you are surrounded by sh@t. The buidling is old and not appealing from the outside.

I thought about buying one of those units (hell of a deal by the way), but decided against it because of resale value. It may become a good investment if you hold on to one of those units for 10 years or so, but you aren't waisting money because your mortgage/rent is pretty damn cheap even with fees.

You can't beat the location though.
