I've always thought Houston was the most moderate big city in Texas, and therefore the most tolerant.

Since Harris County is the largest county in Texas, if we're a "swing" county, and if the pollsters are paying attention, we'll get more attention at the next election. Sort of like being the prettiest girl at the party (a comment some pundit made about Ohio).

If you're interested in this kind of stuff, check out Dr. Dick Murray's post election analysis
on Wed, 11/28/12 at the Houston Federal Reserve. He's Houston's premier pollster and political maven, as well as a fantastic speaker, with lots of great insights. The dinner is always really good too

Travis County is much smaller and Austin holds a much higher percentage of its overall population. If you add in Williamson to Travis, then we can start talking.

Doesn't help that Rush Limbaugh/Hannity and ilk are really the only talking heads on local radio when it comes to politics and not offering an alternative point of view. It's amazing that Conservatives aren't the majority.

You vampire socialists live in your own little world.

5.4 Million job? LOL The real unemployment rate (the U-6 rate) is at 14.9%. That is a terrible terrible number and is far higher than when he took office.

Dow doubled. So what - there are very few places to put money right now. This has nothing to do with the economy / Obama. Oh - and the market has tanked since the re-election. Heading down big time today again.

Record corporate profits? Like this?:
Earlier today, fast food juggernaut McDonalds reported same store sales for the month October. At -1.8%, this number was well below expectations of -1.1%, and a drop from September's 1.9%. It was driven by a 2%+ drop in comp store sales across all locations: US, Europea and APMEA, with the US performing just as bad as Europe. Most importantly, this was the first monthly drop in MCD comp sales since March 2003!

Ask all of the businesses in Houston if they are experiencing 'record profits'. Please.

Recession ended? Put down your crack pipe.

Troops out of Iraq? Well not completely and he got them out pretty much when they were scheduled to leave anyway.

Osama? That POS in the white house had nothing to do with that. This is a president that doesn't even bother to attend his daily intel briefings. The information came from the CIA and the mission was executed primarily by the Navy. The intel came from water boarding btw. You liberals hate the intelligence services and the military so do not take credit where it is not due.

Obamacare? I could write pages on this one but "we have to pass to the bill to see what's in it" says it all.

Let's not forget the biggest issue - 5 plus trillion in additional debt. More than all previous presidents COMBINED.

I doubt you really believe all the crap you wrote. So what is the real reason you voted for Obummer?
