Needing to know what areas to avoid moving to in Houston. I seeking info on good high schools, neighborhoods etc. I'm thinking about moving to either the Woodlands area or Sugarland. If anyone can give me any insight on these areas I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Where you will work? That's important because of the commute.

Understand the op's concerns as a single parent. At the end of the day you don't care as much about the commute you endure as long as you have provided the best environment you can for a teen to succeed. Both woodlands and sugar land are good. I'd prefer woodlands personally. Just like the area better.

As far as commute, I prefer not to drive more than 35 miles if possible. I will be looking for a call center job.

You need to understand that its not the miles that make a difference in Houston, but the commute times. When you get the job, then it will be easier to give you a good place to commute from.

Moving somewhere without locking down a job seems to be a real risky idea, but I won't tell you what to do.

The high school I graduated from is very academically challenging and one of few exemplary public high schools in Houston. Clements High in Sugar Land. You can look there.

The area around Clements HS is rather expensive, though. It would also help to know what the OP's price range is.

I will. Please don't move here without a job. Jobs are not as plentiful as you might have heard.
