Lol, Austin has a "skyline"? Trying to compare Austin to Houston is like trying to compare kelvin Cato with Hakeem olajuwon.

In my opinion, Houston's skyline is much nicer, unique and certainly bigger.
I agree!! Austin has a few unique buildings, but Houston has tons of unique AND tall skyscrapers not just in downtown, but throughout the city. Austin's few skyscrapers are very modern only because major downtown development has recently begun. Houston's development goes back to the 1960's!

Actually Houston's development goes back to around 1900.

The Franklin lofts and Capitol Lofts buildings are from the first decade of the 1900's:

This Behemoth at 806 main was built in 1910:

The Magnolia Hotel was built in the 1920s:

My favorite building downtown was built in the 20's too:

Houston has so many tall buildings that would have been gems in the Austin skyline but go on noticed in the Houston skyline because the skyline is so much bigger. The Esperson building for example is from the 20's and yet it would be among the top 5 tallest in Austin and certainly its lovely architecture would enhance the Austin skyline

Is this thread serious. I like Austin's skyline but it's cute compared to Houston which is on awhole nother level of skylines. Houston wins this by a landslide. Houston skyline is like that older sister who is pretty, thick, nice waist, well proportioned, a little gut but you can work around that. Surely she could stop traffic. Austin's skyline is like Houston's little sister who just hit puberty. You know the one you say "I bet she has the little boys running hot the first day of school" There just not on the same level. Lol

Where the hell is that building? I don't recall seeing that thing anywhere.

Referring to that Esperson Building.
