My coworker will be moving to Kingwood and he told me that it's a good neighborhood with good schools. Is he correct? Since I might move to Houston soon also. It would only be about a 15 minute drive. Can I find a home there for $175k? Thanks.

Its not a neighborhood, its a town that was annexed by Houston.

They call it the bubble around these parts (Lake Houston area, outside of Kingwood).

its very nice, beautiful, with great schools. The City of Houston in taxation only.

Thanks for the explanation. How about humble? where they are building homes here: 14819 Fall Creek View Dr. humble 77396? Thanks! Humble would be much closer since my job would be in north houston on Aldine Bender Rd 77315.

I do have a 5yr old, so a good grammar school close by would be nice. It would be my wife, daughter and me. My wife would look for a part time only job, hopefully close by. So I hear traffic is a mess there?

From What I have read, Humble is not really a good place to live. Atascocita and Kingwood seem to be much better places. Any other cities that would come to mind? thanks. My budget would be about $170k for a three bed and two bath home.

Go to HAR.com : Houston Real estate, Houston homes, Houston Realtors, TX Homes and search for houses in 77339. Bear Branch and Woodland Hills Villages both have highly rated schools. Example house in your price range: 3535 Tree Lane, Kingwood, TX 77339 - HAR.com

Avoid Kings Mill, it is in a different school district and is not part of Kingwood despite the deceiving name.

Most Defiantly. Kingwood is a beautiful suburb probably the second most attractive MPC after the Woodlands.
IMO North Houston has some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the state.

You think Kingwood is better then Sugarland and Pearland? Or are you saying the scenery is better because of the trees and the lake?

Agreed. If Kingwood was more convenient to the things I need/want, I would move there in a second.
