Exactly Texsn95...neither I nor the other surrounding neighbors should have to purchase locks, cut power to outside outlets or be subjected to the continuous loud noise of a generator all night every night because a half dozen or more squatters or whatever they are cannot or choose not to get power turned on. Even lawn mowers and weed eaters cannot be used after 8:00 p.m. because of the noise and that is nothing compared to the generator running for 10 hours straight or longer.

It's confirmed that they are stealing water and the city is shutting it off and putting a lock on it...it is now a health issue w/no running water to flush toilets, etc and the councilman's office is contacting CPS. This never seemed right from when it started 10 or 11 days ago...squatters...they need to go.

What you allow, is what will continue.

GFCI's don't have anything to do with your home burning down or not. They protect people from being electrocuted. They have been a requirement since the 70's.

Now AFCI's, those are pretty recent and are designed to prevent electrical fires.

In the meantime do you have your wire cutter and pound of sugar?

I was emailed for an update so thought I'd post one here too. The squatters have been gone for two weeks now...YAY!!! The police were out twice after four or more phone calls two weeks ago Wednesday night/early Thursday morning, the second officer told them he was coming out the next night on his shift and if they were still there running the generator he would make them leave. The city also turned off the water two weeks ago today and placed a lock on it so they could not turn it back on because they were stealing that too. It's been nice and peaceful since.
