5 bites yesterday, 1 through my pair of pants?? 4 while sitting in the garage waiting for my hubby's car to be serviced and one more while I was in Kroger. And I didn't see a single one biting me - stealthy little $#!!$.

As usual (for me) the are all swollen up and driving me mad with itchiness .

We have had the blasted things for quite some time. We spray and it seems to help a bit.

When you say you spray, do you mean yourselves or your yard and what do you use?

When I got up this morning I sprayed myself with Burts Bees insect repellant - I now stink of lemongrass but hey it could be worse. I have been using Gold Bond on the bites themselves and am trying so hard not to claw at them.

All the rain we've been getting, remember last year we were going through the drought, so not as many Mosquitos.

A while back I discovered that running hot water over the bites for several minutes will make it stop itching for hours. At first it will make it itch worse.....but within a few minutes it will stop.

When I say hot water.....I mean as hot as you can stand it.

When the bites are on my legs, etc......I get into the shower and use the hand held shower head to beat the hot water on the bites. I use water so hot that I couldn't stand under the whole shower.....need to use the hand held to get super hot water on those bites.

This is especially helpful right before you go to bed.......no itching.....sweet, blissful sleep.

They're pretty bad - and carrying West Nile virus in 38 zip codes in Houston:
West Nile virus hospitalizes Houston woman - Houston Chronicle

WestU is spraying the whole city twice a week while Houston only sprays when disease is discovered and then only sprays the affected zip code. Personally I think they should spray the whole city at least a few times each summer.

Hell yes.

I do have to say that I live in an area that doesn't have that bad of a problem with them. Anytime I go to visit anyone outside of my area or go shopping or something I am attacked.

I have noticed that they are worse if you live near an area with tons of trees or heavily wooded areas. I'm not talking about a rainforest but just a dense collection of trees. There is a CVS near where I live that backs up to a small wooded area and at certain times of the year them bastards will eat you alive while you checkout.
