Nanner - That would be much apprieciated, but you don't have to go out of your way for me...no biggie

BearBranch - I feel I agree with on the utilities and housing costs

Cowboy44 - Hey Shipmate...are you at MSU Galveston? That is actually a billet for me to get. I'm an OS2 on the Cutter Hamilton chasing drug runners for the time being. How long of a commute is that for you? At the moment there are 8 billets i'm up for in Houston/Galveston area...my command is telling me i'll more than likey get something in my top 3 picks...so we shall see. At any rate, i'm going to check out Tomball and Jersey Village. Thanks for the info!

I'm an HS1 and stationed at SFO Galveston. My commute in the morning is about an hour and 5 minutes.

If thats where your orders take you, i guess you will need to do.
Its probably a good time to build, the market should even drop more
during the next few months. I would prefer myself VA. there was a cost comparrison I did, VA did come in less.
Houston, for several yrs has come in #1 for all the wrongs.
1, for highest commute in the country
1, for careless drivers
1, for bad air
1, bottle necks
1, hot hummid summers
I live in Kingwood, i prefer not being inside beltway 8.
Im assuming you may be station close to Galveston?
Baycliff is a nice area.
Good luck!

also, my stepdaughter finished college 2yrs ago, got 1 boy 14 when he is 18 finished with school, he can move off to college. Then im looking to build a log cabin, maybe 1500 sq. with @least 3 acres,1 behind me and 1 acre each side, i plan on having a horse shoe driveway. i dont want to have to worry about making extra income for taxes on a 3500 sq ft home. The taxes here are next to CA. kinky Friedman pointed that out on his run for Gov. I did ch out what he claimed and was true. the good ole days in TX are gone. Im looking to make a profit on selling my home and rebuilding else where, but will really need to arm wrestle wife, but with my plans, at the age of 40, dont include Hou. good luck!

I'm curious are you even from Texas, you have so much negative things to say about Houston? I used to think like you, but I have realized so many things Houston has to offer, and remember I was raised in Los angeles, and yeah LA has better weather, it still cant compete with Houston. Why do you think so many people relocate here.
