A neighbor told me she saw a small bird leaving one of those small air vents that come out to the side of the house. The vent is either blocked or broken since it doesn't close all the way. It's on the 2nd story of an elevated house, so more than 10ft high and my ladder doesn't reach. Has anyone experienced this or have suggestions as to what to do or who to call? I just want to make sure to clean it up before shutting the vent properly and hopefully the bird(s) to be out of the vent safely. I appreciate suggestions!!!

I've seen restaurants with patio areas use fake owls to scare off birds.... Maybe you can buy one and set it up on your roof some where

This sounds like the most sensible way to do it.

Once they nest and any babies leave the nest, they'll leave on their own after Spring. Then just seal it up.
