I recently drve around Cinco Ranch, and was pleasantly surprised. It was not the all houses identical, treeless burbs I had imagined. Instead, it was very nice, and I find myself really, really liking the area. Lots of greenery, stores blended in nicely and were not just ugly strip malls.

We were down in Houston early last month and out of all the suburbs and communities that we toured we liked Cinco Ranch far better than the others. The ammenities, the schools, the new shops, the great prices, and the overall feel of the area. It's definitely a matter of opinion because I realize some people don't care for the area - we fell in love with it though. We move at the end of June and can't wait to be Cinco Ranchers.

Best of luck!

Coming down to view these places is definitely the best way to go. My Husband works in the Galleria and it takes him about 35 minutes on the tollway to get there, however he does leave extremely early in the morning about 6:30 am. Coming home is a different story, depending on the time he leaves his office. So all in all, it boils down to location of job, and what you and your husband are willing to trade off.

I wish you the best on this journey, having moved from Chicago to Houston I know all too well the struggles that come along with having to do this research long distance. But you are tapping into a great resource here, locals will let you know what they think, and inform you of your options!

Good Luck!
Thanks so much for the feedback! We did look at Cross Creek as well and it was a beautiful community. We were there on a Sunday morning and their sales office was closed so we weren't able to get as much information as we would have liked, but we were pretty much set on Cinco at that point anyway. Really looking forward to moving down there at the end of June. Since we are coming from cool Seattle we are already mentally preparing ourselves for the heat.

That is great! I hope you find the home that you are wanting and maybe we will run into each other...who knows? Your coming from Seattle and I'm coming from Chicago, I think we can both relate in that the heat will be something that we will both have to get used to for sure!
