Okay. so it is been awhile since I have been on these forums. I did thumb through a few pages and did a few searches but still more confused than ever.

We recently relocated to Houston from the NE and weren't sure where to live. We are currently living off of 249N in the Klein school district. Husband is working near Post Oak & the Galleria area. The drive sometimes takes him well over an hour to get home. (thank goodness I didn't pick the woodlands lol)

Anyways, because we weren't sure we rented a house but our lease will be up late April. I am rethinking the area we are in and would like to live somewhere safe and much closer to his work. We do have school age children 3 who will be at all three school levels next yr. Can you please recommend a neighborhood area closer to his work and more tolerable with our price range max of $280K.

Might try for a townhouse in 77024. 280k,close AND with good schools K-12 is townhouse range really.

Hudson Oaks, Ethan's Glen, and Somerset Place are great communities with tons of kids. They are zoned to be best city schools k-12. Hudson Oaks would be 10 minutes from is work location, the other two about 20 minutes with traffic.

PS-I see your old posts have a lot of Questions about LAX. The above area has lots of LAX clubs, and some of the schools even have school sponsored teams. Others with give school credit and lettering for the club teams. Tons of LAX camps in the area as well. One going on this weekend at Houston Christian.

Thank you EA...I am also willing to be up to 20 miles...south or west of Post Oak area. Is Sugarland a terrible drive. Anything has got to be somewhat better than his drive now.

I would stay away from straight south... being that he's working on the galleria area, I would look at either Sugarland or Katy... Of course I'm biased for Katy since I live there... It's a straight shot on I-10... there are two toll roads your husband can take, and it's one of if not the BEST school district in Houston... if course at 3 your kids are still at daycare (I can recommend one too

Somewhere in Katy not far off Westpark wouldn't be a bad commute and has great schools. Unfortunately, you picked one of the worst locations, being off 249. Tough to get anywhere in town from there in a timely manner.

There are a couple areas in spring branch that could fit or just join everyone in Katy

Sugarland might be a 30 minute commute if you are close to 59. Longer if you are more in. Katy would be a good option as well.

I agree with him. Why not live in Houston? Memorial Park, Memorial City, or Briar Forest areas are really nice and safe, his commute will be very short. I have no idea about school districts but I can't imagine they are bad schools what-so-ever.

Might want to check in Missouri City. Your husband can go on hwy 90 to 610 and avoid all the major highways. From Missouri city it takes you 35 minutes to get to the galleria. The neighborhoods are great in the city, you have Quail Valley, Sienna Plantation, Riverstone, Lake Olympia. The schools are great too. Fort Bend county is great to raise a family.
