I did my part; but I can't leave the bin on the curb any longer; people are dropping their bags of dog s%$t in there and I'm certainly not going to leave it in my garage until the next pick up in January. Into the regular trash it goes.
Here's an idea. Ask you neighbor if you can put yours alongside theirs.

I love having the regular sized green recycling trash can. When we had the bins living in the heights there was always a problem. they would spill stuff, leave it on the street,my final straw was when i saw the throw and bust my bin on the street. It still had items in it that went all over the ground. I just started taking my own recycles. after we moved the issued the big trash can sized ones LOVE these. I fill it up and my trash one is practically empty. And they give you points.

I'll do it for the electronics and hazardous stuff, but not for old newspapers and milk containers.
Try the recycling center on Center St just a block off Heights Blvd. It's just a parking lot with the different containers for each type of recyclable. Sometimes the city will have the single stream truck there and they'll take everything except brown glass for some reason. No driver's license needed. The only place I think we needed to show proof of Houston residency was the hazardous waste disposal center and even then, they only asked for a utility bill.
