Does anyone know if its illegal for a property owner to video tape their HOA's annual general meeting?

fwiw .... that happened here when our subdivision was going through some contentious times.... i don't know how usefull it would have been if there had been any sort of "proceeding" that resulted from said contention....

Depends if you are to do it openly, and what you intent to do with it later.

Video Taping Meetings - Board Control Of > HOA Forum > HOA Talk.com

Recent changes to HOA laws now allow a homeowner to video tape a Board Meeting.
You need to check the local laws.
Example: this HOA require this:
