I just repped you for that.
It would also be nice to have an ignore feature on here as well.

The moderators can be just as irritated by frivilous "reports". I.e. reports of forum abuse that don't involve any wrong doing. Just because it's reported doesn't mean that they will agree to the alleged "complaint". Seoid said something perfectly within the rules of the forum, and had a good point too.

HOV has nothing to do with traffic in Houston.
Ignorant people always want to find a scapegoat to go on a l...nchmob.

If you use your head for 1/2 a second. You'll realize that the problem is the extremely crappy designed entrance/exit ramps.

Just look at the one that I have to deal with everyday.
I drive South on I-45 and get on the Beltway going west.
When I'm going to get on the Beltway, I have a pile of cars stopping from doing it because they are trying to take the Greens Crossing Blvd exit.
and we only have a total of 100 yds to switch places.

75% of the traffic in Houston is caused by bad entrance/exit ramps and slow drivers on the left lane.

we need german autobahn rules here. you drive slow on the left you get a traffic ticket. you pass on the right you get a traffic ticket. you try to get into the exit lane you need last minute and block flowing traffic you get a ticket (i see this all the time in houston - just admit you suck and drive on to the next exit)

then everyone would complain about traffic tickets and not traffic. we are cursed as americans to always get upset whatever option we are given

Did the people who designed those highways give any practical thought to the exits/entrances? The on/off lanes are right on top of each other so that you have all this backed up traffic trying to go on and off the same, short ramps. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it.

That's my utopia... so it's never going to happen.

Highway patrols are not for improving the flow of traffic.
Their job is to sit 1-2 miles ahead of the place where there's traffic jams everyday and wait for somebody who is speeding trying to get to work on time so he won't lose his job.

Guess what buddy...
now you are going to be really late for work, lose your job and get a speeding ticket.

they do that because the average joe doesn't actually support them pulling over people for what is considered minor here, like driving slow in the left/passing on the right. somebody would get that ticket and everyone would be infuriated over it. look at how angry people get for getting speeding tickets...

its been awhile since i took drivers ed. is the above even a traffic law in the US? it should be
