I am looking for either 1 and half or 2 bedrooms apartments in SW area. These days, crime is everywhere, and we are family of 3 with a newborn, so concern about safety.

None Southwest APTS are the most ghetto in town for $900 you could get a nice APT in the Montrose area or Galleria maybe even the Heights

That's not true. There are plenty of safe and nice apartments in Westchase.
Check out the ones along Richmond near Royal Oaks. I've driven through there and saw some really nice ones.

Westchase is not Southwest that is why it is called west & if you have read the org post this person is looking for a APT close to S Gessner or Beltway 8

Westchase is not SW, unless there is a serious crime. When there is a serious crime, Westchase changes its name to "Southwest Houston" in a hurry. Kind of reminds me of Meyerland.
Also, Gessner runs through Westchase.

My MIL lives in some apts off of Briarforest and Tanglewilde (sp) that aren't bad which is one major street over from Westheimer and Gessner. I can't think of the name. She has her place decked out to the nines and has never had any problems over there. They are right by all the million dollar homes and she has a 3 bedroom that is upstairs and downstairs and it's HUGE for under $1000. I'll have to see what they are called.
