Please help if you can. I had a business up in the Woodlands that I closed in January 2011(this year). I find out that because I was open for even 1 day in 2011, I'll be required to pay the property taxes on that now closed business for the entire year?!?!?! They said that's the law but that's plain crap IMO. I'm so mad that I'm willing to not pay the taxes and go to jail just on principle. I called them up and told them that I would be willing to pay the taxes for the 1 month i was opened but to hell with them if they think that I was going to pay taxes for the whole year.
