Take I-10 E. That's it.

I personally would not recommend taking alternate routes, especially if they take you through rural areas. I have plenty of horror stories to share with you if you'd like to hear! :-P

We drove from San Diego to houston last January. We stopped in Tucson the first night then we took a little sidetrip to Tombstone Arizona the second day. Its just past Tucson 20 miles or so south. Little touristy town you can see the ok corral where wyatt earp had his gunfight, little cowboy shows. Kinda fun. We stopped in Fort Stockton the second night. Third day we stopped in San Antonio and saw the Alamo. Nice restaurant district. Have fun on your trip.
