My son has just got an admit from The village school houston. Is it worth the money to send him to The village school. Also, if anybody can throw light on the curriculum there that would be great!

If you can afford private schools, good private schools, then I would not think twice. People look at relative rankings between public schools and then talk about how such and such ISD is 'great'. It's like comparing a Yugo to a Ford Pinto and calling the Pinto 'great'. There are almost no public schools in the entire US that I would send my kids to these days.

But I am sure if we spent 4 times what the Japanese do per student rather than just twice as much - that would solve the problem...

Totally agree regarding TAKS and No Child Left Behind. Central planning at it most well intended. ug.

Actually there are several very good public high schools in Houston. To which public school are you zoned? That would be helpful in answering your question.

If it's Katy, you don't need a private high school. If it's Klein, I don't know enought to comment.
