Hi,

I am looking for suggestions for a 5 year old boy's birthday party in Sugar land. We are looking for somthing fun and unique during late January and not in our home. All suggestions are welcome. Has anyone used a party service/organizer? If so I would like to hear about your experience. Thanks everyone.

Try Stomping Grounds Playland ... it can get crowded, especially during bad weather so take the earliest time of day you can - kids at that age seem to love it. They have a website. They have what is essentially a McDonald's Playscape on steroids.

Stomping ground is great, but Sugar Creek Baptist church has a playscape like stomping Grounds for a fraction of the cost, and there aren't any other children present. You do have to provide your own food, but the set up is Awesome. There are plenty of chairs and tables for parents to sit and talk.

Not sure about the unique part but I've been to a lot birthday parties in Sugar Land. Choices are Stomping Grounds Playland, Castle Jump, Victory Viper Sports, and LaserZone.

We've been to 3 parties at Castle Jump. All the kids had fun. Ages ranged from 3-8 for the parties we went to. Very clean, attentive staff and nice owners.

How much they charge for the adults (who bring their kids) and what food (if any) they offer to adults ?

Just curious...

I also agree about Sugar Creek Baptist. The kids love it and its the cheapest option of all. Its a set fee so you dont have to worry about the number of kids that come. You supply the food so you don't have to pay the mark up that other places put on the Pizza Hut/Dominos they order. Just order pizzas or a nugget tray.

Has anyone had a birthday party at the Museum in Telfair?

I've done a party for a 4-year old at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church playscape... I think that playscape is actually better than the one at Stomping Grounds, especially since you have it to yourselves.

The HMNS Sugar Land branch (in Telfair) was fun too... a real hit with the kids for something different. We were guests rather than hosts at that one, so not sure on the details of it all.

There's a swimming place on Cartwright Rd just east of Sugar Land that does parties too, the name escapes me now.
