I want to enclosure an outside space. This type of glass structure is perfect. I hope to know more about this.

--What is it called? Looks like a sun room but it's much bigger than a sun room.
--How much does these things cost?
--Do they require building permit?
--Can they resist weather (wind)?

It's a screen enclosure.
Keeps the bugs out around the pool, so it's more enjoyable. Very popular in FL.

Not cheap
Everything requires a permit in FL
Kinda; but not well- hurricanes and tornadoes wrap them up in nice big wads of recyclable aluminum.

What is the difference between a lanai and a Florida room?

A Florida room is a room within the house, mostly towards the rear, and has lots of windows. Florida rooms are also called sunrooms. They are typically heated and cooled. A lanai is a screened in outdoor aree. Some have solid roof, other have screen roofs.

So what I see in the picture, is only screens to keep out bugs, not glass or acrylic panels?

Can't imagine what such a solid-sided structure would cost if was actually weather-proof!

Yes, it's screens, not glass. I can't imagine how hot it would be if it were glass.

If it were glass, we would call this structure a greenhouse.

So many pool areas are covered by these structures in Florida; thousands and thousands of homes have them.
