Capacitors can explode from dirty power . harmonics can blow caps like they were a bomb .
You always should buy from companies with deep pockets . i was a control panel designer and i always used brand name stuff just in case there was a liability issue . never Chinese imported stuff

2014 Carrier --- OEM Cap lasted through 2018 (5yrs use). Since then it's one at the end of each season.
All things considered... the $11 part and twenty minutes is almost tolerable.
The company I do work for owns an hvac parts supplier ….they sell very few capacitors.
They also do motor and pump repairs and it is rare the caps are the issue.

I'm curious if you live in a hot climate? I own rental properties and it seems like I replace a capacitor every year. I think really high temps are what do them in, because they always fail Jun-Sept.

^^This is close to my observation:
All is fine until the hot end of enough hot days at the end of the hot season (no heat pump).
This year I found some string trimmer damage to the control cable and had that fuse blow too fwiw.
That extra heat load could be causing shorter restart cycling with less cool off time.
Maybe it's time to finally buy some gauges?
I recently replaced a condenser fan capacitor in a 40 year old A/C. I know the age cus I installed the system. 40 years ago a DIY person could do that stuff.
There were other repairs done before and since, but that would get away from the capacitor topic.
The A/C is still working. It would make sense to me to keep a spare capacitor on hand.
Capacitors that are not used go bad after a number of years ….
We had to scrap a bunch of very expensive variable frequency drives at work that we had on th Shelf for years when the caps failed to rejuvenate from not being charged.
There is a reconditioning process for capacitors but many times it does not work
