Best Color For counter top for cherry wood Cabinets (flooring, countertops, paint color)

We had similar cabinets in our old house and choose a medium greyish green paint for the walls and a very light beige solid surface countertops.

Lighting also make a difference. We have dark cabinets like that too. The kitchen is on the west wall of our home so we went light with floors and walls and chose a mix of light and dark for countertops.

Please not dark green, too 90's-ish. I like the lighter granite in the second picture better, but granite isn't your only option, FYI.
