Purchased a Zline range hood from Amazon.
it is lowvoltage transformer, and has a plug... i'm happy about that, as it makes things easier for coordinating electrical work.

QUESTION: what is the recommended distance from stovetop to the botton of range hood?
I saw recommendations online in other forums that its 24 inches?

(I hope this isnt considered hijacking the thread. I'd think those looking at downdraft blowers are considering this too!)

The installation manual of your hood should suggest the optimum distance between your stove and the hood.

great product (zline) but it didnt have this info on the Amazon page, the site, or the instructions.

I called the them, and unfortunately I was shy by about 6 inches.
But... they told me to go ahead and install it and if its too low they would send me shorter extension to raise higher. Thats pretty good customer service!

Update on my hood.

Even with a small blower, the hood works reasonably well as long as I run it for 15 minutes after we finish cooking. When using the grill pan, only about 50% of the smoke is extracted in real time by the hood, but as the air circulates, most of it is cleared so my kitchen never got that cloudy haze that it did before we installed the downdraft hood.

The best thing is the remote blower, its in the crawl space away from the kitchen, so the hood is very quiet!
